London is the cultural and artistic hub of Great Britain. The West End is the theatre district of London, where there is approximately 40 theatres in operation and is the area with The Strand to the south, Oxford Street to the north, Regent Street to the west, and Kingsway to the east in the heart of London city centre.
Other famous theatre venues include The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden (also the home of the Royal Ballet), and the English National Opera at the London Coliseum near Trafalgar Square all within 10 minute drive from The Dorchester.
Pre theatre restaurant dining is available in The Promenade featuring live entertainment on a daily basis. A pianist plays from 1:15pm to 7:00pm and live jazz music takes place from 7:30pm each day. The Grill at The Dorchester is also open from 6.30pm.
