Elie Michel Zgheib joined the 300 strong Food & Beverage department at The Dorchester as Arabic Chef, to oversee and enhance The Dorchester’s Arabic menu.
Zgheib has a strong background in Arabic cuisine spanning over 13 years. He unveiled a passion for Arabic cooking from an early age, inspired by his family and in particular his grandmother, whose recipes are the basis for many of his menu creations today. Initially trained at the Dekwaneh Institut, Lebanon, Zgheib has since enjoyed positions in high profile luxury hotels and restaurants in both his homeland and London. Most recent roles have included Sous chef at renowned Lebanese restaurant, Maroush in London and Sous chef for Arabic Cuisine with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
Applying modern techniques to his cooking and working with only the best traditional Arabic food suppliers in London, Zgheib has pushed the boundaries to enhance the already popular menu, while staying true to traditional flavours and maintaining authenticity.
The Arabic menu at The Dorchester features highly popular dishes such as Samakah Harra, Lamb Kabsa and Shawarma Chicken.
